AFTERCARE

  • HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

TATTOO AFTERCARE — WHAT TO DO / WHAT NOT TO DO (READ ME, IT WILL BE CHILL)

TO DO — KEEP IT SIMPLE, KEEP IT CLEAN

Leave the bandage/wrap on for the time instructed by your artist (usually 2–8 hours, or the duration advised for second skin films).

Wash hands before touching your tattoo.

Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance‑free liquid soap.

Pat dry with a clean paper towel — do not rub.

Apply a thin layer of the aftercare product recommended by your artist (do not over‑moisturize).

Keep the tattoo clean — wash once or twice daily, then lightly moisturize.

Wear loose, clean clothing over the area.

Expect peeling/itching during healing — it is normal.

Stay hydrated and well‑rested to support healing.

❌ NOT TO DO — PLEASE DON'T DO THESE

DO NOT scratch, pick, or peel flakes or scabs.

    DO NOT re‑bandage unless instructed.

DO NOT soak in baths, pools, hot tubs, ocean, or saunas until fully healed (≈ 2–4+ weeks).

DO NOT expose to direct sunlight or tanning beds — keep covered until fully healed, then use SPF.

DO NOT apply petroleum jelly, antibiotic ointments, or scented lotions unless your artist says otherwise.

DO NOT work out heavily the first 24–48h if it stretches or sweats on the tattooed area.

DO NOT let pets lick or touch the area.

    WHAT TO EXPECT

Days 1–3: redness, tenderness, light oozing possible.

Days 3–10: peeling and light itching — do not pick.

Weeks 2–4+: top layer may appear dull while deeper layers finish healing.

SECOND SKIN REMOVAL — IF YOU'RE WEARING FILM

Remove in the shower under warm running water.

Peel slowly in the direction of hair growth — no yanking.

If it sticks, let warm water run longer and try again.

After removal: wash, pat dry, and moisturize lightly.
